Project Brief
The Barwon Paper Mill Art & Community Hub project focus on creating a community centre & an unique social gathering place in Fyansford region. In the future it will be an art & creative industries and tourism attraction spot. The paper mill is a 4.2 ha site that was built on the cliff of Barwon River in 1876, it is the only water powered turbine paper mill and the longest operation paper mill in Australia. However, its historical meaning has been forgotten by the local since then. Aim The aim of this project is to rebuild the connection of the site to the Barwon River delivering a sense of place to the Fyansford Region. |
